Puppy!

My husband and I got a puppy. We got him from the local shelter on the island his name is Opie, and for those of you who know us we named him after my favorite character on the show Sons of Anarchy. We don't know his breed for sure because him and his siblings were found in their drop box one morning. The vet said he's a shepherd mix. He's such a cutie but is a hand full when he wants to be.

I took him to the dog park last week and he made a new BFF with my friends dog. He kept humping her, though. I know dogs do it to show dominance but he kept on doing it. I don't if I'm suppose to stop it. He's neutered so no worries there. But his BFF kept slapping him in the face, which was pretty funny. Anyway, this bigger puppy came by and Opie thought he could hang with him. They were playing for a little bit, I guess Opie was too slow on a turn or whatever but the bigger puppy ran Opie over. I shouldn't have laughed but I did. At least now he knows where he ranks, hahhaa! My next goal at the dog park is to have Opie run the obstacle course they have there. He was able to jump over a bar, but wouldn't jump on over it the other way. Divo.

Taught him the Paw trick, still working him rolling over. We'll get there. I've always like watching Ceser Millan's shows, but I saw his book at the NEX and it's been my doggie bible. It's really helped me out a lot on how to understand our puppy.
